FULL TIME CHEF
 

With almost 200 years of Welsh cultural history and heritage, we are now growing our team at the Bunch of Grapes to meet the needs of our new state of the art kitchen and on-site craft brewery. We have a real passion for food and are always exploring new ideas and ways to experiment with extraordinary seasonal ingredients and so we’re looking for a chef with the same enthusiasm.
 

We have a well-established reputation for great locally sourced and freshly produced food both in our cosy bar and in our newly refurbished Gastropub restaurant. Cooking over coals, fermentation, smoking, pickling and preserving all feature heavily and we hope to explore more techniques and ways to deliver maximum food flavour in the future. A creative chef with the same vision who is motivated to achieve high levels of excellence and push forward with developing new ideas and

menus is also what we’re looking for.

It’s a great time to join the team!

As well as enhancing and developing new menus, we are evolving our in-house store and bakery selling chef's ingredients and organic foods. We are also building on our production of freshly made bread by developing our own range of products straight from the kitchen for customers to purchase in our on-site shop.
 

What the role will look like and how it will develop

As a Chef within our long-established team, you will work closely with the Head Chef and Executive Chef/Owner to drive forward our vision of excellence. Creativity and passion are essential and there will be a lot of freedom to innovate and develop your own style with dishes alongside the Head Chef and Owner.

- Communication skills to effectively interact with staff, management and customers
 

Daily responsibilities

- Daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation

- Ensure that all meals are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards

- Work with the team to manage inventory and order supplies to maintain adequate stock levels

- Collaborate with the management team to develop new menu items and dishes

- Help in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment, following food safety and sanitation guidelines

- Monitor and enforce compliance with health and safety regulations

FRONT OF HOUSE SERVER
 

CWRW BARA GLO (Beer Bread Coal)

 

That’s what we are all about - the very best craft and cask beers, most of which brewed on site in our very own craft brewery, Bread freshly baked daily with pastries and cakes, Coals or Charcoal. Our food is cooked over live fire with passion and care.  We are a Gastropub, a Restaurant, a Brewpub all in one lovely neat package.  Now we need you, a front of house person; a person with a committed, creative, driven and awesome personality that wants to achieve.  You will need to be fast, focused, consistent, energized and amazing.

 

Having completed the largest refurbishment works we’ve ever undertaken we’re now looking for enthusiastic hospitality all-rounders to join us and continue to develop the Bunch of Grapes. You’ll be working in a newly refurbished restaurant, brewery and pub with a brand new, state of the art kitchen.

We’re looking for you to start with us immediately and join the team, part time hours initially leading to full time employment for the right candidates.

We have gathered a clutch of awards, but we want more, we want to be better than we have ever been, we want to establish ourselves as a must go to place to eat out in South Wales.  Would you like to help us get there? We are pushing forward with new menus and a new food vision: fermentation, curing, smoking, pickling, and preserving all feature heavily, but we are driven to explore more techniques and ways to deliver maximum food flavour to the menus. We have a brand-new kitchen arriving later in 2022 equipped with all the tools a creative chef needs to fully explore new techniques and styles of cooking as well as a brand-new on-site microbrewery, smoke house and restaurant re-fit.

Alongside the progression of the new menus, we have an in-house store and bakery selling chef's ingredients, organic foods and real breads made fresh daily. We intend to grow and develop our range of own branded products supplied direct from the kitchen for customers to take home with them setting us further apart from other hospitality businesses in South Wales.


 

Our ideal candidates will have a real passion for food, passion for exploring new ideas and finding new ways to cook and working with unusual ingredients, an interest in seasonality, baking, experimentation and a willingness to join us on our journey to see where and how far it can take us and our customers.

What the role will look like and how it will develop:

The right candidates will work closely with the head chef and executive chef/owner to formulate the direction and ambition of the new menus, to explore new techniques and ways of working whilst maintaining accurate records and documentation. The team will be small but big in ambition, focused and driven.


There will be a lot of freedom to innovate and develop dishes with the head chef and owner – you’ll be able to develop and put your own style into the dishes.
